About Superior Stairs, Inc.

Superior Stairs, Inc. has been in business since 1995 and is located 5 miles east of the small town of Sisters, Oregon. This truly is a business about design, inventions, and progress. It had its humble start making stair brackets to improve and speed up the stair building process for the metal home industry. The modular component idea made a quantum leap to a patented, one piece sheet metal stringer (Patent No. 6,968,655 B2) for use in any home, with any configuration (straight or curved). At the same time, the work shop needed a platform on which to construct stairs with accuracy, and a one-of-a-kind assembly fixture was made. Also, throughout the years of developing the best way to build an understructure, our cross-strut system for load transferring was engineered and used exclusively (see our Gallery of Design and Construction). We are now equipped and able to manufacture and customize all phases of a stair project from the understructure to a finished installed custom staircase. Superior Stairs, Inc. is licensed, bonded and insured in the state of Oregon.

Our progressive inventions and designs are blended with a vast resource of old-world skills and talents ranging from meticulous ornamental iron work, welding and metal fabrication to wood carving and sculpting. We make sure that the project is compliant with codes and specifications outlined in the IRC (International Residential Code) Hand Book. Our business is recognized regionally as the authority on stair building.

Our goal has been and continues to be being a leading stair making company in the United States that offers the level of precision and integrity that we bring to each and every stair case we build. Superior Stairs, Inc. is pleased to announce that we are the only stair company that builds the understructure with sheet metal steel stringers and the only one that can offer Corian handrails and treads. We are one of the few stair companies that use a minimum of three stringers in our curved understructure and that can do a complete stair package from the understructure to the finished stairs, handrails, carved newels, and ornamental iron work. We are constantly taking steps to improve our technique and to widen our creative resources so that we can offer virtually any possibility to our customers.
